Morning Routine

Hey girlfriend!

This week has been absolutely crazy in my world! If you follow me on Instagram stories, you know I’ve been missing in action. Reason being, my schedule was completely uprooted. The week started off with the hub’s midnight medical rollercoaster (he’s fine now – but geesh!) PLUS I have been in the office every day this week until 7pm.

Needless to say, this has been a shock to the system after working at home for over 3 months and I’ve been in 100% survival mode!! My morning routine went out the window and it’s my favorite part of the day!

The luxurious days of not commuting and not having to “dress for success” are gone and I haven’t even thought about converting my morning routine back to the way it was!

In order for me to have that time in the mornings and still make it to the office at a decent hour, I need to reorganize my time. I created a tool to help with this and thought I would share it with you.

WORK FROM BOTTOM UP

INSTRUCTIONS:

You will actually start at the bottom and work your way backwards. You start with what time you have to end your morning routine…let’s say you need to be out the door by 8:30 am. Then above that, list the things you would like to do during this time. For me, that’s things like meditate, read a few pages of a book, listen to a podcast or Audible, work out, shower/get ready for work….you get the point. Then to the left of each item, write how long this takes. My meditation is 5 minutes, workout is 30 minutes, etc. Then you can back into what time you need to start.

Now, the routine doesn’t have to be the same every day. For me, I only work out 5 days a week and rest days are my favorite because I get to spend some extra time reading or washing my hair (a.k.a. the alpaca)!

This written routine gives you a general idea of how much time you will need to take care of yourself and set the tone for a positive and productive day. And there’s a bonus — you will look forward to getting out of bed each day, so that you have time to spend doing the things that make you feel so good!
