Don’t cry…

Do you know what NSV means?? It means “non-scale victory”. Yeah, it’s hard to get excited about those, when all you want is for the darn scale to move….DOWN!

CAN YOU RELATE?

I’ve been following a KETOGENIC DIET for over 5 weeks now. Do you know what that is? It’s high fat, low carb, moderate protein.

I was pretty much eating this way, since Tim and I cut out grains and gluten last November. I was lacking in the “high fat” department though.  So, I’ve had to get creative with adding healthy fats to my diet.  Things like grass-fed butter, Brain Octane Oil, etc.

I’ve been doing well, I think, with the food. It’s yummy, filling and completely satisfying. And Bulletproof Coffee is the B-O-M-B!!!  I’m just hoping that it’s not TOO good, if you know what I mean.

SO WHERE IS MY BIG WEIGHT LOSS???

Apparently, as our bodies deplete the glycogen stores in our cells FIRST and then they fill up with water so they don’t lose their shape.  They sit like this until they finally concede to the fact that no more carbs are coming in, they release the water and then the weight loss begins.

I’m still waiting……..

I’ve read it can take up to a few months. PATIENCE, RIGHT???

So now for my NSVs —
I feel AMAZING!  Brain fog is gone. My energy is great, so my workouts are going good.  The best part is that I’m actually sleeping in a deep sleep, which is something new for me.

All this is wonderful, don’t get me wrong.  It’s just hard to get excited when all you want is to see the scale move.  I will keep on keepin’ on…

CHEERS!  xoxo
